Tank Sherman Posted November 13, 2022 Share #1 Posted November 13, 2022 This is a photograph of my dear friends Mum and Dad on their wedding day. John William Tait. None of his family can remember what unit he served with. I hope I am right in saying that he is wearing a good conduct stripe on his left sleeve, below that a wound bar. His Dad passed away many years ago due to unremovable shrapnel in his head. Every year they observe the 2 minute silence, and I want to help them find out more and find his medal record card to see what he was awarded. If you fabulous people can help, I will be eternally grateful. Thanks Graham
Otter42 Posted November 13, 2022 Share #2 Posted November 13, 2022 Hard to make out his insignia above the good conduct stripe. And looks like he has a patch on his shoulder. Can you get a better resolution of the photo? Here are some trade insignia, thought maybe you having the photo could make one out. Good luck. Tonomachi Posted November 13, 2022 Share #3 Posted November 13, 2022 This is just a wild guess but trying to blow up the image which is mostly out of focus the first letter sort of looks like a "B". The next letter it hard to tell but there is a BG trade badge worn on the cuff of the battle dress which stands for Bren Gunner.
