mbec Posted December 12, 2022 Share #1 Posted December 12, 2022 Sorry the pics are upside down. One of my uncles was in the Philippines and the occupation of Japan and he brought these home with him. Can any of you identify them? Thanks Mark
shemp h. Posted December 13, 2022 Share #2 Posted December 13, 2022 The round blue rating with the red blossom and anchors is a pre 1942 IJN rating for a first class seamans blue winter jumper. However, these ratings were used until the end of the war. I believe the shoulder board is for a Naval Cadet, not sure about the badge. mbec Posted December 13, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted December 13, 2022 Thanks for the info Bill. One of the gentlemen on the U.S. forum identified the badge as an IJN Navy Damage Control Proficiency Badge second class. You all amaze me with what you know.
