i know that they came with two different types hanger studs

Looks like a well-worn original to me.

Gotcha, I'm still in Facebook mode with all their algorithms.

I think it's genuine. 

 

Obviously, it's been polished, since it shows wear and the original finish is gone.  The suspension ring's been cut and warped indicating it may have been mounted on a medal bar.  Looks like an early-to-mid war tombac version.
