LE LOUP DES MERS Posted March 8, 2023 Share #1 Posted March 8, 2023 I have a chance to buy these two nva flags and was wondering if these two flags are original or post war production.
Ivydiv Posted March 8, 2023 Share #2 Posted March 8, 2023 Both look like reproductions to me.
Preppy Picker Posted March 8, 2023 Share #3 Posted March 8, 2023 These fake embroidered flags are everywhere. Three of them showed up at at the flea market a couple weeks ago. Just recently an on line auction had like 20 of them, all embroidered the same way and using Arabic numerals. They all have the 1968 date on them. Did the NVA even used Arabic numerals? Ivydiv Posted March 8, 2023 Share #5 Posted March 8, 2023 Anytime you see the heavy embroidered stars like the top piece, it is a reproduction or newly made piece. Originals were two sided stars early, then later they used the cut out design with single star double stitched. The only real flags with lettering I have seen were at the Army Museum by TSN Airport outside Saigon. They were large sized Regimental or Division sized flags that may or may not have been Wartime flags.
