Another Australian see-thru knife pickup

I stopped at a local junk store to see if they had anything interesting. I found this knife piled in with the other random hunting knives. Marked $18 but they quickly went to $12 when I very slowly attempted to set it back down. Came with a cheapo paper thin leather sheath (not original). The knife is not top condition but is interesting. Blade is about 6 3/4 inches long. Should I remove the white paint in the see-thru part or leave it as is? I figured for 12 bucks, why not!

Interesting knife, must be Aussi made? What is the story on these? I would probably only remove the price marking.
