Gunner87 Posted May 28, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 28, 2023 I recently commissioned a young Ukrainian artist to paint a portrait of my Great Grandfather who served in the Royal Garrison Artillery. To say I was happy with the result would be an understatement. I thought it maybe of some interest. The first image is work in progress, the second the finished piece ready to be framed. GCCE1854 Posted May 28, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 28, 2023 I am "gobsmacked", as you say there! It's absolutely beautiful and completely amazing. A couple questions . . . how large is the finished painting? Is it on canvas or paper? Also, does this artist have a website or anything, in case anyone else would like to ask about having a portrait done?

I have just let him now about this wonderful forum and suggested he post some of his work. This is all an oil on canvas..... I had to look twice as it could be a photograph.
