Gulf War - Royal Artillery photographs.

I thought the following photographs of 40th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery (RA) taken by helicopter on New Year Day 1991 maybe of interest. The RA uses roman numerals, as well as numbers, on official documents and signage, XL being 40.

 

The third, fourth and fifth photographs are a rare insight into the interior of a British M109 fully armed just before we entered Iraq. The RA carried out Gun Raids on targets prior to the main land offensive.
