Another item located - Observer Wings Pin (??)

Hello....I located another item which I "thought" were Observer Wings from WW2......However, the blue center really adds to the mystery since I cannot locate any other ones with this.....Furthermore, it appears to have had a stone of some sought in the center (i.e. small diamond) but it's long gone.....Any thoughts would be appreciated as always.....Thank you !!!

It's a pin back, so WWII era. I'm betting it a sweetheart piece. Made for wife or girlfriend. The blue piece is defiantly added. It would be interesting to see what is under it. Does it unscrew? It also appears to be stamped. notice the sharp edge on the bottom that looks like a stamping burr. I see no hallmarks or sterling marks.
