Hi. To me this looks good and has no glow under black light (although I know that that doesn't mean that it's original). It is well made with a metal (magnetic) insert. Please can anyone advise on this one please? Thank you

Do the metal pips and number pins penetrate the entire shoulder board or just the top layer of bullion?  Photo of the back please.

Hi they penetrated the top section only, which makes me think that they are tailor made

I don't see any red flags.  It looks like original tunic removed insignia to me.

 

Theoretically the #1 should be gilt but any gilt may have been worn away.  I have also seen alum enlisted numbers on officer boards before.

Many thanks that's nice to know. I only have a small SS collection and this is one of my favourite objects. There is a small gilt area at the bottom of the 1

The piping is White, White for Infantry? If so what unit is this for?, as the 1st Regiment of the Waffen SS would be the 1st Panzer Grenadier Regiment of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler, and they as we know wore the LAH Monogram not a number 1.
