NCO SWORD

Hi I am going to look at a NCO sword this weekend. Is there anything that I can look for to determine if it is real and not a fake? thanks

Look at pics of known originals to see the marking style and placement. Those tend to be off on the copies in font, alignment, and placement.  Also while you will occasionally find some crudeness on late war Japanese fittings, the copies tend to have crudeness on what would be earlier fittings.  I have also seen a few copies that utilized plated brass blades- so they are non magnetic. Post pics here when you can!
