Luftwaffe Schiffchen from an old collection

Gents,

I picked up a few items from an old 1950s collection and I thought I would show a nice Luftwaffe Officer side cap (Schiffchen).  This slang for these caps means "Little Boat" since they look like a small boat when they are turned upside down.

 

This Schiffchen is made of Luftwaffe grey wool with EM style cotton insignia sewn on the front. It has bright woven metal piping around the cap attached to the flap.  The interior has officer grade silk lining but no maker markings.  All in all a nice aged cap from an old collection.
