Clive Branson

Came across this individual, one Clive Branson a relation of British Mogul Richard Branson, Clive Branson, artist and poet, a member of the Communist Party, his wife Noreen is a major member of the Party in Britain LOL, and he was Soldier in the  International Brigade in the Spanish Civil War where he gets captured, evidently released when the Spanish Civil War ends, he evidently returns home, when WWII stated he somehow gets to enlist in the Army as he is a total Anti Fascist. Joins the Armored Corps and rises to a Sergeant in the war raised 25th Dragoons, doesn't see action against the Italians or Germans, but rather the Japanese, he is KIA in Burma at the  Battle of the Admin Box. as a Tank Commander in B Squadron of the 25th Dragoons, an M3 Lee. His wife does her bit as a Air Raid Warden, quite a turn indeed for her considering she was a smuggler for Anti British people in India, as well as the Communist Party in India who were Anti British too LOL

One of Clive Branson's Wartime Paintings of 1940, titled Bombed Women and Searchlights, it is now held by the Tate Art Museum in London, he drew his wife Noreen as the lead lady, as mentioned she was an Air Raid Warden, and her neighborhood in London did get hit a few times, to later inclued V1 attacks, in one raid, I think during the Baby Blitz, their home was destroyed, Clive of course was not their as he was in Burma, she was, survived and had to move to another place in London.
