Is this a volkspolizei visor hat?

Hello everyone hope you are all having a great day, my parents have gifted me what seems to be an  East German volkspolizei visor cap. Did I get it correct or is it apart of a different branch in East Germany

It looks exactly like DDR Vopo Schirmmütze.
