TP1953 Posted December 30, 2024 #1 Posted December 30, 2024 Hello, I am interested in this knife, the seller claims it is a WW2 German Pilot knife, but I cannot find another one like it, and to me doesn't seem too German. The Sheath is marked "KIRBACH", and has a plane and a star on it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
Marshallj Posted December 30, 2024 #2 Posted December 30, 2024 It is not German. Possibly private purchase American. The star and the P38 on the sheath make me think American. Kirbach might be his name. And I looked at it again and see what I believe to be U. S. sergeant stripes on the sheath.
SARGE Posted December 30, 2024 #3 Posted December 30, 2024 I agree with Marshallj that it is a US knife with US motifs carved into the scabbard.
TP1953 Posted December 30, 2024 Author #4 Posted December 30, 2024 Okay, that is what I had suspicions of, it just didn't look German, but it being privately purchased by an American seems plausible. Thank you for the help.
