Fort Susquehanna Posted February 12, 2025 #1 Posted February 12, 2025 Hi, This is an open call to any interested persons who want to correspond. I am a long time collector of 45 years who now wants to focus some of my collecting on WWII Regia Aeronautica items. To that end, I am looking for good written resources, websites, forums, Facebook groups, and examples of RA items. My collection consists so far of an aircraft engine data plate, a 1929-dated Tropo Especiale Carcano, a WWII RA overseas cap, and a stamped RA cap badge. I have a very large collection of WWII US aircraft parts and pieces, WWII US vehicles and related stuff, and WWII US GI collectables from my decades of collecting. Some of these items are up for trade and sale. I am especially interested in uniforms, field equipment, and original aircraft instruments and parts/pieces of equipment from Italian-produced WWII-era aircraft. I have a few kick-off questions about RA items which I would like answered. 1. On my RA overseas cap, the eagle and crown are made of a rubberized material. What is this called, and was it used post-WWII? 2. I have a few uncovered WWII Italian canteens. Is there available a supply of correct WWII-era wool to make a correct RA blue wool canteen cover? 3. On my stamped RA cap badge, there are two screw back posts and one of the posts is missing the screw nut. Are these available? 4. I would like a good instruction on the uniforms and general equipment of Regia Aeronautica personnel. What were the field and dress uniforms of the officers and enlisted men assigned to the RA in WWII? Thanks for looking.
