Don Posted February 17, 2025 #1 Posted February 17, 2025 I have a chance to purchase but the dealer doesn't know for sure this knife belonged to Hitler. It's a Wellner, marked Austria and also marked Inoxydable. It has the bold upper case initials A. H. Not sure if this is a real Hitler knife. Is it by chance an hotel knife? I thought I remember reading about a hotel in Germany call Adolf Hof? Any thoughts?
Marshallj Posted February 17, 2025 #2 Posted February 17, 2025 Fake. This is what originals look like. Typical dealer BS stating they are unsure about an item.
Don Posted February 17, 2025 Author #3 Posted February 17, 2025 What is actually confusing me is awhile back a very highly recommended third reich dealer had a spoon with the same bold block initials AH that was a vet bring back from Hitler's apartment in Munich. A COA was also included.
Marshallj Posted February 18, 2025 #4 Posted February 18, 2025 “This dinner knife measures 8 and half inches and is marked Wellner on the blade featuring the three gnome logo and is also marked INOXYDABLE. The handle has some simple line designs and the letters AH are engraved on top of each other at the bottom. I have not been able to verify this particular pattern or method of monogram so I do not know for sure whether this example is truly part of a service once used by Hilter. As more research goes on in this field perhaps this pattern will be identified and this example will prove to be a very fine investment.” From the dealer site. I am risk adverse and would not pay $295 for a “might be”
Don Posted February 18, 2025 Author #5 Posted February 18, 2025 No. I'm not. Just trying to find out something about it. Yup! With further research it is a fake.
