Large IJN flag for evaluation

Hello, I'd like to get some people's opinion on this site... I've asked about it on on a Japanese forum and was told it looks too new, and the gold foil corners are post-war due to them having a (gauze like texture underneath) ..  but no explanation why or other examples shown... I have seen a lot of flags with the gold foil on them sold at what  I think are reputable places and museums, as (originals)... I did the black light test but I don't think that's 100% and they cannot tell the difference. I'm hoping the picture is not too big to load on here, but it shows a newly washed white T-shirt up against the bottom of the flag... Not sure what I'm looking for though... Any thoughts? Thanks
