USM8287 Posted July 31, 2025 #1 Posted July 31, 2025 Good afternoon all - I am an active member of the US Militaria Forum for years focusing on Marine Corps. I recently acquired this in a much larger grouping that came out of a Boise estate. These items are not in my wheelhouse at all. So I am looking for any information you can provide. Authenticity, rarity , and value if this forum permits. I appreciate your feedback and time. Best regards
Preppy Picker Posted July 31, 2025 #2 Posted July 31, 2025 Everything looks real. Maybe some close ups of the wound badges. The sport shirt is for athletes in the police. The shields are for pith helmets and the black badges are wound badges similar to the Purple Heart. All are common maybe $300 total?
Mr.Jerry Posted July 31, 2025 #3 Posted July 31, 2025 All authentic. the Police sport shirt is the most valuable (maybe $200-300), harder to find still on the shirt. the 2 black badges are wound badges ($50-100 each) and the shield sets are for pith helmets the 1 eagle is earlier. ($50ish each)
USM8287 Posted August 1, 2025 Author #4 Posted August 1, 2025 Thank you for the information and quick replies. Much appreciated
Rakkasan187 Posted August 1, 2025 #5 Posted August 1, 2025 Some very nice items. The Police Sports shirt is really great, especially with the ink marking stamps. The other items are also very nice. Possibly look at the back side of the wound badges to see if there are makers marks. Leigh
S.ChrisKelly Posted August 1, 2025 #6 Posted August 1, 2025 I'd like to see some close ~ ups of the Wound Badges.
USM8287 Posted August 1, 2025 Author #7 Posted August 1, 2025 All, I really appreciate the interest in this grouping. Please see the attached pictures showing the badge markings. Wound badges are marked 65 and one of the eagle shields is marked JR&S.
S.ChrisKelly Posted August 1, 2025 #8 Posted August 1, 2025 "65" is the hallmark for Klein & Quenzer AG, Idar-Oberstein. That's a zinc silver wound badge, and what looks like a mint condition black wound badge. Neat to have a "matched pair".
Thirdeyeschism Posted October 3, 2025 #9 Posted October 3, 2025 If you ever decide on selling those wound badges let me know! Those are some killer badges and a very great score overall. Super happy for you.
