Need help identifying this uniform

Hello, This picture was found in my Great Uncle's estate. b. 1892 - d. 1980.

(My Paternal Grandmother's brother)

Their Grandfather was involved in the Swiss Sunderland War of 1847.

Is it possible this is him? There were several Cantons at war for about three weeks. 

My Gr. Uncle was also a WWI Vet, so it's possible this could be 20th Century French?

Left arm.patch indicates a bugle - Infantry?

Collar unit is "154"
