Husky43 Posted November 5, 2025 #1 Posted November 5, 2025 Is this an Imperial German (or Third Reich-era) German officer's bayonet?
J.T.Thompson Posted November 6, 2025 #2 Posted November 6, 2025 Ricasso marking is Weyersberg, Kirchbaum & Cie. A combination of two very old Solingen companies. Weyersberg used the Kings head; Kirchbaum used the Knights head. At the end of the monarchy in 1918, the company dropped the Kings head and continued production using the Knights head.

Thanks for the information. So it is an Imperial German officers bayonet? Is it for field wear or dress?
J.T.Thompson Posted November 6, 2025 #4 Posted November 6, 2025 I'm unsure. Hopefully someone will come through with an identification. Nice bayonet.
SARGE Posted November 18, 2025 #6 Posted November 18, 2025 This appears to be a private purchase KS98 dress sidearm. It has two rivets in the stag grips and a rectangular drain in the grip next to the steel guard. I think it is most likely late WWI or early Weimar Republic. A nice private purchase bayonet.
