Max66 Posted November 6, 2025 #1 Posted November 6, 2025 I have recently bought this HJ buckle. It seems to be original, but I am not an expert. Can someone give his opinion? Thanks
Edelweisse Posted November 7, 2025 #2 Posted November 7, 2025 This wants to be a HY Assmann belt buckle.…..but something is “off” about it besides the various hallmarks being on the opposite side of the buckle… Let’s see what the SMEs say.…
Max66 Posted November 7, 2025 Author #3 Posted November 7, 2025 Thank you for your answer. I wonder why forgers would have placed the marks in the wrong position.
Marshallj Posted November 7, 2025 #4 Posted November 7, 2025 Is that buckle steel? Those markings would not be on a steel buckle.
Max66 Posted November 10, 2025 Author #6 Posted November 10, 2025 This is a similar buckle for sale on a specialized web site. Same marks on the same side....?
Danny J Posted January 8 #7 Posted January 8 heres a real one from the gettysburg museum of history collection... a couple of things look wrong when you compare, but the mushiness of the back side eagle head & swastika messiness would make me skeptical. and the fact the markings on the wrong side.🤷♂️ but im not an expert on these buckles.
