Not sure if this is military. Would someone be able to translate any of this? Thanks for any help, Ken

This medal is likely unrelated to the military.

In the past, Japanese schools awarded "scholarship medals【奨學牌】" to students with excellent grades.

I think that's probably the case.

However, it is possible that it was used in schools in areas occupied by the Empire of Japan during WWII.
