Aedthir Posted April 17 #1 Posted April 17 I just started a bayonet collection and here are the ones I have found so far. The differences in them are very interesting from the early to late war models. I saw online that the single loop frog is for field artillery; is that correct? I looked for the reference book but it is out of my price range at the moment.
Aedthir Posted April 20 Author #2 Posted April 20 I just noticed the first few inches at the tip of the blade of the one without the hooked quillion is magnetized. Was this a common practice with certain manufacturers?
SARGE Posted April 21 #3 Posted April 21 Not that I am aware of. Nice bayonets and a good collecting start.
Aedthir Posted April 22 Author #4 Posted April 22 One more added to the collection! There are no breaks in the rubberized scabbard and intergral frog. The frog hangers are slightly pliable; I am going to display the blade beside the scabbard to ensure there is no chance of damaging it.
teamski Posted April 25 #5 Posted April 25 Nice! You definitely don't see them with the frogs very often. -Ski
