I needed bread crumbs for a recipe but only had croutons. Nothing handy in the kitchen to crush them with but my Japanese 37mm projectile was the first thing I found to use as a rolling pin. For the record, it worked great. You may want to think of putting one in your kitchen drawer.  Have any of you used militaria in the kitchen?  mikie

A friend's father found this and a Japanese collar tab in a building in Korea in 1946 when he was part of the Army of Occupation. I know the front says "Imperial Army"...but what is written on the reverse?  Thanks in advance for the help!     Mark sends

Given they were produced three years apart, the differences between the two doesn't surprise me, especially since these were a high production item.  They both still served the same purpose.  

Attached are photos of two Kar98k ammunition pouches. The top is marked “Stecher Freiburg 1940” (Moritz Stecher Lederwerk - Freiburg), the bottom is marked “cgn 43” (Rohrbacher Lederfabrik, Josef Poeschels Sohne, Rohrbach). The overall pattern & construction of the two are virtually identical, including the internal rawhide separators. There are differences between the two with regard to stippling, blackening, and also the type of metals used in each (D rings, rivets, studs): Stecher: all non-magnetic (aluminum?) Rohrbacher: all magnetic (steel?)

British cap badges are traditionally stamped out and attached with a split pin. I have attached an example.

For official use map as of January, 1940 Map of the various air fleets / Air Districts of Germany, 42 inches tall by about 52 inches wide - so it's big. Fascinating bit of original WWII history. I bought the entire map collection of a guy who was career military, and worked in the War college. Some older repairs to the back in regular tape, plus some archival tape repairs that I made to the back (mostly) and a couple to the front. As you see, colors are bright.  Not a reprint. I have about 100 more maps, some Army Map Service, some French Army maps, USCGS (US Army Command & General Staff College), some War Office, some Michelin. Corps of Engineers. Many WWII and pre-war, others extending to 1958. If you need more photos, or have questions about the other maps, please ask. I'll send you a list. 

Franky in " Suddenly". Yes it is a G43 and I owned one along with a G41 and I loved shooting them both, the recoil was very light for a 7.9 or 8mm and also accurate depending on the round your shooting.
