Thought I would share this small group to a Corporal in the British Indian Army's 5th Division. This unit saw action from the early days in Eritrea and Somaliland, through North Africa and Italy with the British 8th Army, and finally to Kohima, and Imphal in Burma and the liberation of Singapore. So little is ever shown about the Indians who served the Empire and I have always found it to be a fascinating topic that when this uniform came available, and for a cheap price, I jumped on it. It pairs nicely with some field gear and a desert tan helmet. Some day I will add it to a full mannequin as I have the boots, socks, gaiters, and pants as well. Scott -

Another Heer Vest, did the best I could in enlarging that Manufacture Nomenclature Tag still kinda blurry, but seems to indicate it is a Vest for Sergeants, perhaps by virtue of the strip of Black around the neck opening??? -

12th Engineer Battalion, this battalion evidently wore unique cyphers on their shoulder strap, crossed Pick and Shovel along with battalion number, rather then just the number. This battalion will be from Saxony, note his Saxon Cuffs of his tunic. -

Newly released Indian POWs The American liberated them, have no idea where this is unfortunately, as the caption the uploader used is given as Camp Dilligen, it is a Stalag somewhere, but the use of Camp is wrong in this contest. could be Dillingen, Dillingen an der Donau in Swabia, but we havent seen a Stalag located there, -

This Sunday, Jan 25th is the first SOCALMICS show in Bellflower of the new year. Public hours are 7:45 to 10:30am. The first one of the year is usually pretty strong as most vendors haven't set-up since November. Feel free to share. -

My father was with the American Army 509 Parachute Infantry Regiment in World War II. This is a set of British Paratrooper wings given to him during joint training exercises with British Airborne. -
