daskrieg is correct. A lot of police equipment was "Pol" or specifically property marked for independent police departments. Here are some typical Polizei property markings. -

From one of the Bayerisches Inf Regts assigned to the Alpine Corps, all ranks wear the Edelweiss Badge. The Austro-Hungarian Kaiserschützen honored the men of the Alpenkorps by awarding them their unit insignia: the Edelweiss. -
