I recently acquired a 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division formation sign to continue with my British patch collection. I just wanted to post on here as my research is not conclusive. Do any of you experts know if the manufacture type is a known variant, early war/late ware or reproduction. The white on the reverse is obviously glue from a previous owners display technique, so i can forgive that, but has anyone have opinion on it authenticity of WW2 era production.? Thanks guys👍 -

I posted this on the usmf and it was suggested that it might be swiss or swedish so I'm posting it here as well. Saw this at a trift store. Sort of bucket shaped. Would not have looked at itmuch except I noticed some faded markings on one side, only thing I can read is 1 CA below that is 2 CA and below that is c15? The is something to the left of that but I can't make it out. Material seemed a bit thick, not sure exactly what it was made out of. -

Thomas Reighton Jones was initially enlisted into the 19th Bn Lancashire Fusiliers. His Medal Index Card (MIC) records that he was first commissioned into the South Wales Borderers in June 1918 and then transferred into the Chinese Labour Corps. He entered France and Flanders in September 1918. He applied for his medals in 1920 and was entitled to a WWI 'pair' - British War Medal and Victory Med The address he gave for correspondence was Manitoba, Canada. In 1972 Bertha, his widow, applied to the Ministry of Defence for a widow's pension. . . . and, as a final note, officers did not get a Service number until post-WWI. Best Mike -

To make the identification I used primarily "Bayonets of the World, The Complete Edition" by Paul Kiesling (p. 375) and ""Bayonets From Janzen's Notebook" by Jerry L. Janzen (p. 147.) The standard Army pattern had two rivets securing the grips. The Navy version used a bolt and washer to secure the grips; This arrangement allowed disassembly for cleaning. For pictures of both versions, try Dennis Ottobre's site "www.ebayonets.com." https://www.ebayonet.com/bayonetsn_s.htm That is a nice bayonet. J.T.
