an all original very decent Police helmet (very common) that came home with many vets after the war. it has the usual color, decals and liner stamped 54, in the neck guard there is a stamp that looks like a diamond shape, other then that there are no other stamping in the shell. -

black paint, army decal, full liner stamped 57, chin strap, neck guard number 817, side number appears to be E164, tip chin strap dated 1941, named to ROTH-OGEFR, steel liner band date high up can't see it, stamping in dome worn very faint. THIS MY BE A REISSUED HELMET--- all 3 split pins have the washers on them before the bending back of the shafts. -

This IMO is a fake. With the spaghetti style rest found on a lot of “rare” British SF patches. -

Greetings. Crossing over from the US site. I have a scabbard that came in empty. Looks like its for an M1871/84 but the blade length is roughly 14-1/2". My question is about the acceptance mark. Present on the chape and the locket. The closest I can find is the German Royalty marks from the 1800's but it doesn't match. Please take a look. -

Got to have these princes and princesses gainfully employed in their spare time. Being an honorary commander of a unit helps justify their expenses I suppose. Neat photograph. -

Now we’re cooking.. thank you for the translation and identification…. my understanding is the helmet was brought back by one of the uncles and played with by the kids along with a sword of some time long since confiscated by their mom thank you team -

I've never seen this type of anchor marking before. The characters read "i-29-go【醫29號】*", so I suspect it might be a medical item. *The character "i【醫】" is no longer in use and refers to medicine or a hospital. The character "go【號】" is no longer in use and indicates a number or designation. Note that "乕" is a variation of "虎". -

Much better photos, and while I can't explain the anchor stamp, its not a navy helmet its a civil defense helmet. Its not a type 90 at all. I hope this helps some. A quick search of Japanese civil defense helmets will bring up many similar helmets. These were also made for factory workers and often bear insignia for specific companies. Scott
