Very nice.. I am getting ready to start going through all my East German uniforms and equipment that I collected after the Berlin Wall came down... I brought a ton of stuff home, just don't remember all that I have...   Leigh 

I too am not a fan of the sword. This appears to be a Chinese Copy in my humble opinion. Truth be told when it is taken apart to see all parts of the blade... Not a fan of those stamping marks on the brass habaki (ferrule). Looks like it was in a vice or pliers...    Leigh   

Right now my main to-do list for this is to get a riser for the 2nd case and get an east german AK74 bayonet to go with the AKM bayonet.

Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it. I always tread lightly with the SS stuff.... This is a local collector who has it and I believe he got it from Poland.... And I already know about the tomfoolery with the stuff that comes out of Poland...lol next time I'm over at his house I will look at it real close with a magnifying glass just out of curiosity..... Legacy Collectibles, International Military Antiques, and Wittman Militaria are pretty good dealers to buy from as they specialize in that stuff. 

Do you know if it is an early or late production dagger?

I would be very cautious with any SS militaria being sold online as SS stuff is counterfeited the most since it is the most rare and expensive of all German militaria. Who is selling it and what website is it listed on?
