I've noticed that. Now while I'm looking for an original I'll put the reproduction in. Originals are hard to find

Loose examples pop up from time to time on the bay.

I found pics of an original & the difference between mine & the original are easy to see.    Any input as to where I might find an original would be appreciated. Thank you - Mike

Getting around to doing some due diligence. The first looks alright to me, aside from the unfortunate broken catch. Am I right to assume this is a silver, based on the remaining wash on the back? The second looks like a cast fake to me. Don't like the lines on the helmet and other details on the reverse in particular. But ready to be proven wrong, if this is just a variant I haven't seen before! Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

This nice postcard is also part of the WHW series. It is easily worth $20 by itself. I am willing to include it free-of-charge if somebody steps up and buys the $65 lot...

Unfortunately, this is a reproduction badge.

I had to replace missing ones over the years and rarely the replacement shields line up to the existing holes. It's my opinion they were punched at the time of installation, but I could be wrong..

Yes ive been reading that these were very rare to have shown up in Africa, mostly Greece, Italy Malta and parts of southern France....   Thats OK, still original 1942 good condition pith. I did examine the shields....the paint on the shield etc doesn't go over the edges (which is what you would find on repainted shields by amateurs) So they are clean in that regard, and I didn't want to take of the shields either as what i can see on the inside they are well pinned on and don't want to chance breaking them either..... tell me tho, were the holes pre-drilled for the shields on these helmets or were they just made when the pins pierced the helmet?   Anyway, thanks for your reply

I just googled rampart lions British, Scottish, Belgium, Flanders, Wallonia, Dutch, Luxembourg ……..Belgium independent units WW2?  The search goes on.  I appreciate your research and recommendations.  Thank you

Try googling rampant lion red yellow black which are also the colors of Germany.   The lion definitely has a European look to it but could be US.   Also the lion is also facing right while many rampant lions are facing left.    I googled rampant lion Belgium but I don’t have the time to check them all out, there is a seemingly endless supply of them.
