Wearing a custom made waist length jacket made from SS Camouflage is a Army Commander of a Sturmgeschutz, unit unknown, He's wearing Panzer collar tabs, Black rather than Field Grey, so there's a chance he is in one of those Panzer Regiments of a Division that had Stugs in it to round them out, or he's in a Panzer Battalion of one of the Panzer Grenadier Divisions, Panzer Battalions of a Panzer Grenadier Division, almost exclusively using Stumgschutzen, these troops in both cases wear the Black Uniform.

*Cross posting this here in the Italian category and the German third Reich category, hoping to get more information*   So, maybe 3-ish years ago  I purchased this SS shield patch. Supposedly that of Italian 29th Waffen-SS Grenadier division, an SS division made of German aligned Italians formed after the 1943 Italian armistice.   Recently they've become common on the market. From what I've seen/read online, apparently it was patch that was designed and made late in the war, but never issued? A large stock was found, and they have since been selling on the collector's market. I've never seen any pictures of them worn by the men of division. I don't recall how much I paid for it, but it wasn't super expensive... If it was I probably would have remembered.   Anyone here have any more concrete information on these patches?

Hi all, I picked up this rig among others during a trip to Vietnam recently, which I think is for (stick)grenades. But I have never seen another one, either 'Live' or in pics. Is this type actually used pre-1973? It is completely unmarked and has 6 open pockets in the middle and a smaller pocket closed with a flap and wooden toggle on each side. The only metal parts are 2 sliders on the shoulder straps. For the actual color see the last pic.

I don't doubt the hat itself, but I have no idea about the pin.   Fakery? I don't know what you're talking about 😂

On another collector's forum, they state the same, the Japan Kennel Club.  The medal was awarded at shows.  The photo attached was posted there.....  Sorry, not military.   -Ski

How big is it?  My initial gut feeling is that it is off an old US Air Service/ USAAC service member's suitcase or trunk.  Just my 2 cents.   -Ski

I picked this up at an antique show last week.  I thought that it was a ww1 aircraft fabric that was probably cut off a downed plane.  The owner of it was not sure what it was he had it for a long time from a collection he had purchased.  The holes in it look like old nail holes from being hung up.  Does anyone think this is aircraft fabric and possibly know from which country ?
