Ah fantastic to come across this right now as I am inning and staring over this one. is this in fact a British made 1943 version or a Canadian version because of the mesh type material on the back? and am I right in thinking that the British made ones are just flat embroided onto blue/ black wool? With no distinct backing. Thankyou for any help, oh and merry Christmas🎅 -

WWI German steel helmet with camo paint i got a few years ago, has thicker black lines that you usually see. On the top and front there is evidence of square mailing labels that were removed along with residue of what looks like stamps on the side. _Ryan -

Found this at an antique store yesterday and after doing some research I went back and grabbed it for what I think was a decent price. I've always wanted one of these to go with my US ww2 era knives. I am pretty certain this is a 3rd pattern knife with a 2nd pattern sheath. The guard has the ENGLAND import stamp that must've been struck lightly as the D is missing. Handle has the "1" mold mark. No arrow stamp. The blade has lots of bluing left. The only downside of this knife is that is has been "tipped" about <1/8" and the blade was ground pretty unevenly. Are uneven grinds common? I swear I remember seeing plenty of knives like this but all the knives I've seen online recently are perfectly centered. I'm assuming this is just a product of wartime quality control. Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas! -

I just added an RAF Ferry Command wing to my collection of Commonwealth lapel/mess dress/sweetheart wings and thought I'd share a 'family portrait' of my small group. The RFC, Ferry Command, and RCAF wings are all marked Sterling, while the RAAF eagle pin is marked 9CT and etched, "Dunkie" and "23 Squadron 10-8-43". I'm still on the hunt for a mini New Zeeland Air Force wing . . . -

I have this small leather strap, maybe a helmet chinstrap? It measures 16 1/2" long. Any help/ideas of where to further look for info on its use, country of origin, or what time period it's from would be greatly appreciated.
