Had a nice walk-in the showroom today.

 

One of the pieces was this crate. Does anyone know what it was used for?

 

From my basic searches it looks like it is police related but not sure.

"Verkehr" seems to have multiple meanings, ranging from transport to communication with people.

From what I found out there are two possible meanings of the abrevation GBA:

 

1. Generalbevollmächtigter für den Arbeitseinsatz (department that organized the compulsory labor in WW II)

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that a Wehrmacht eagle on the side. That suggests a military use to me.

 

For all we know GAB could simply have been an abbreviation of the type of equipment stored inside.

With these short wings I would say it's a Deutsche Reichsbahn eagle.
