Relic condition SS helmet

Featured Replies

I'm hoping someone here can help me make a decision on purchasing this... I don't mind that it's in relic condition but I've read lots of different things about these specific SS helmets... Apparently this one was found in a bunker (as most where it seems like)..lol... The way that I look at this helmet is that it's in such relic condition, How could one fake it by applying a decal and then aging it to look like the rest of the old helmet?... But maybe that's a thing... This isn't my area of collecting and German stuff is such a minefield I try to steer clear of it... It's local so at least I can see it in person before buying it.... I honestly don't know what to look for other than what I've read about these ss helmets in this condition... So any opinions on it's  authenticity would be much appreciated. Also what something like this might sell for.... Thanks

I would be very cautious with any SS militaria being sold online as SS stuff is counterfeited the most since it is the most rare and expensive of all German militaria. Who is selling it and what website is it listed on?

Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it. I always tread lightly with the SS stuff.... This is a local collector who has it and I believe he got it from Poland.... And I already know about the tomfoolery with the stuff that comes out of Poland...lol next time I'm over at his house I will look at it real close with a magnifying glass just out of curiosity..... Thanks again
