Tonomachi Posted February 2, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2019 It is my understanding that these buckles were worn by some members of the US Force Recon Companies and US Recon Battalions. I had a coworker in the 1980s who was a reserve 4th Force Recon Company marine when they were out of Reno, Nevada. I have one of these buckles in my collection and I showed him this buckle (Post #1) in the early 80s and he told me that he had seen these being worn by senior members of USMC Force Recon. There is another very similar buckle that is made slightly different (raised lettering) that I was told was made afterwards and being worn by the South Korean Force Recon marines (see photo).
