Old Marine Posted May 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2019 I have had these for a lot of years and never knew what they are, can any of you gents ID these Japanese Collar insignia. They are the same size as normal Japanese rank insignia but the color is a bit odd. The badges are made of metal with enameled color. They are screwback and no maker marks. Are these possibly for Army or Police troops from Manchukuo or occupied Korea? Post War JDF? Thanks in advance for any for any comments or ideas. Rod Posted May 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2019 Hi Dennis, I don't believe those are Japanese. My guess is Chinese collaborationist insignia, the colored bars look something like a collaborationist flag...for what it's worth. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provisional_Government_of_the_Republic_of_China_(19371940) Never seen anything like them before but pretty cool! Old Marine Posted May 4, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted May 4, 2019 Thanks for the link Rod. They may be from the Provisional Government of the Republic of China, puppet state of Japan. The five color bars may represent the "Five Races Under One Union" flag, but the colors are not exactly the same.
