Arkaidiyh replied to triplecanopy's topic in OTHER ASIAN NATIONS
I have to second Basic Rifleman. You definitely need to share your knowledge and fantastic collections in a book to reach the wider audience of old paratroopers and collectors. Scott -

Gunner87 replied to tom63's topic in CAN YOU IDENTIFY THIS?
Hi tom63 Officers' house in the Skomorokhi garrison (now Ozernoe). This link in Russian is a great informative piece on the building. https://aerovokzal.net/taynyi-zhitomira-vremen-vtoroy-mirovoy-voynyi-hegewald/ Gunner - Today

A friend of mine looked into where the US 84th Division crossed paths with SS units and he found this: 3-12 Jan 1945: Grandmenil area, contact with SS Panzergrenadier Regiment 3/ Das Reich Division 13 Jan 1945: Tailles area, passed through where SS Panzer Aufklarungs Abteilung 9/ Hohenstaufen Division had fought 3rd Armored Division and 83rd Infantry Division 10-12 Jan 1945. So, likely this helmet came from one of those aforementioned units. I'm glad people are enjoying seeing this helmet. BKW

Peter P. posted a topic in CAN YOU IDENTIFY THIS?
Good Day I recently acquired a package containing blueprints, engineering calculations and a formal proposal for a German Military Tank design. I have attached various photos and I am hoping someone might have an idea what this is and if it ever was made? Thank You for you assistance. -

Awesome! The shoulder boards with the letter "S" and the two stripes are officer candidates ("Offizierschueler"), second training year.

Impressive collection of these, no doubt rare airborne items. Thank you for sharing.

My small collection of Spanish and Portuguese Police insignia. Spanish Guardia Civil, Policia National and Policia Municipal are represented. At the bottom of the display are insignia of both the Potuguese Guarda National Republican (GNR) and the Policia de Seguraranca Publica (PSP), the Public Security Polce.

A few Polizei cap badges. I started collecting these when I was posted there in the 80s so before unification. A colleague in the Bavarian Police Bomb Disposal unit gave me what he described euphemistically as an "alte Kripo Marke" in the lower left which belongs to another era.

Welcome Jack. Look forward to any advice or posts in your area of interest. Gunner

Got to see him perform live in "Fiddler" some years ago at the Durham Performing Arts Center. He no longer had the voice range to do all of the songs but it was a very moving performance and an experience I will never forget. Literally brought tears to my eyes. May his memory be a blessing. 🕯

Awesome collection Rich! Hungarian cold War items like this seem to be among the most difficult to acquire aside perhaps from Albanian. Thanks for sharing. Scott

Awesome collection. When you get them from a comrade in an allied army even better. Something to be remembered and treasured.
