Tonomachi Posted October 29, 2018 #1 Posted October 29, 2018 I could never seem to afford the high priced WW2 US, German, Italian or Japanese paratrooper helmets and then I came across this WW2 Australian paratrooper helmet. It wasn't as high priced as the other mentioned countries helmets. It was supposedly used in training only with the British Mark 2 paratrooper helmet worn in combat.
Tonomachi Posted October 29, 2018 Author #5 Posted October 29, 2018 There is a name written inside the helmet. There is a fragile orange decal that dates the helmet. The date is in the upper right corner but it is hard to read mine as the decal has deteriorated.
Tonomachi Posted October 29, 2018 Author #6 Posted October 29, 2018 I found these photographs on the Internet showing Australian paratroopers wearing this helmet in training.
Tony v Posted November 5, 2018 #8 Posted November 5, 2018 Great helmet with very interesting pictures. Tony
Bugme Posted November 9, 2018 #9 Posted November 9, 2018 Very reminiscent of a dispatch riders helmet.
Red Devil Posted November 11, 2018 #10 Posted November 11, 2018 Never heard of these until now. Great lid and accompanying photos!

Aussie digger Posted January 5, 2019 #12 Posted January 5, 2019 Nice Duperite helmet. These were also worn extensively by dispatch riders.
