patches Posted December 6, 2018 Share #19 Posted December 6, 2018 The one badge is the 3rd Parachute Battalion, a lot of the Belgian troops in the Korea War came from this unit. The patch is for the Belgian Battalion not sure if it worn by all personnel of the Belgian United Nations Command or just the battalion.

teamski Posted December 6, 2018 Share #21 Posted December 6, 2018 Thanks for the close up. I know the patch was worn into the 1960's on the uniform; sort of a commemoration thing. -Ski

teamski Posted December 7, 2018 Share #23 Posted December 7, 2018 In the Belgian Army? In what context was it worn, by regular serving soldiers? I am not sure. I have a Belgian Ike jacket with the 3rd Parachute Bn patch on it dated 1967. I remember doing some research on it, and found photos online of Belgian soldiers wearing the patch on one shoulder and the commando patch on the other. The Belgian specialists here might have a better idea if it was a case of the unit simply existing later and the patch continued to be worn.
