S.ChrisKelly Posted May 9, 2023 Share #9 Posted May 9, 2023 Like to see a few more images of the Iron Cross Second Class 1914. It looks genuine. The big gold-colored medal on the yellow ribbon is the Kaiser Centenary Medal (Kaiser Wilhelm Zentenar Erinerungsmedaille , established by Kaiser Wilhelm II on the 100th anniversary of his grandfather's (Wilhelm I) birth, 22 March 1897. These are common and it looks genuine. The small cross on the blue ribbon with the yellow stripes is the Brunswick War Merit Cross (Braunschweigisch Kreigsverdienstkreuz) Second Class 1914, also known as the Ernst August Cross. It is on the combatant's ribbon. The non-combatant's ribbon is yelliw with two blue stripes in the same configuration as the combatant's ribbon. The award was created on 23 October 1914 by Duke Ernst August, the last duke of Brunswick (1913-1918), a small duchy in north central Germany. These crosses are scarce and have been copiously reproduced. The one pictured may be genuine. The other badges are obviously reproductions/fakes. Images below for reference, the Braunschweigisch Kreigsverdienstkreuz:
