MattS Posted April 30, 2020 #1 Posted April 30, 2020 Found these while cleaning the garage during my brief unemployment. According to the “World of Bayonets” site, they are a Type I transitional (1979-1985) and a Type II.

I remember there was a surplus place in Raleigh NC called GI Locker that sold USSR and East German militaria (and they had a ton of it), pretty sure I got these there in the early 90s. I still have their business card and in the days before GPS, there was a hand drawn map on the back so you could find them!
RRA227 Posted May 3, 2020 #4 Posted May 3, 2020 We had the surplus stuff also at The Great War Store in Allentown,Pa. when I helped there. Rich A. in Pa.

Seemed like most of the equipment, uniforms, and insignia of the NVA ended up in the US in the early 90s! I found enough stuff while cleaning my garage to fill a tote.
