patches Posted July 24, 2020 #3 Posted July 24, 2020 Is this a WWI Helmet Ben? If so maybe it stands for the 16th Infantry Battalion Canadian Expeditionary Force. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/16th_Battalion_(Canadian_Scottish),_CEF
Ben@HI Posted July 24, 2020 Author #4 Posted July 24, 2020 Thanks but it's a WW2 era helmet. 1943 dated shell.
edstorey Posted July 24, 2020 #5 Posted July 24, 2020 I hope you didn't purchase the helmet just for that painted marking!
Ranger44 Posted January 18, 2021 #7 Posted January 18, 2021 This doesn't look like anything WW2 Canadian, here is a good resource for Canadian helmet flashes: https://milart.blog/2018/12/19/canadian-helmet-flashes-of-the-second-world-war-recognition-guide/
Otter42 Posted January 19, 2021 #8 Posted January 19, 2021 Maybe Canadian 16th Scottish? But their patch was red on the bottom with a smaller blue square above. The C 16 looks like the collar brass my grandfather wore in WWI.
Ranger44 Posted February 10, 2021 #9 Posted February 10, 2021 Are there any markings inside the helmet?
