Proud Kraut Posted November 13, 2020 Author Share #26 Posted November 13, 2020 Thanks Manny, and I´m afraid this wasn´t the last model I´m adding to this project. Another vehicle is on the way...😉

Proud Kraut Posted November 17, 2020 Author Share #28 Posted November 17, 2020 Just a quick update. I´m still working on the hull. Many small parts, lots of filling and sanding. The SdKfz doesn´t look very attractive at the moment.
ArtyScout Posted November 19, 2020 Share #29 Posted November 19, 2020 Wow, I wouldn't have thought that you would have to do so much filling and sanding. But nice work.
Proud Kraut Posted November 19, 2020 Author Share #30 Posted November 19, 2020 Thank you! At least it has a gun now.
Proud Kraut Posted November 22, 2020 Author Share #31 Posted November 22, 2020 This will be my first Afrika Korps model for a long time. I did some research concerning the camo colors and learned that this is a real science. First I have applied dark grey primer. Before I´ll airbrush the desert camo I have prepared the SdKfz with Blue Tack and masking tape.
ArtyScout Posted November 23, 2020 Share #32 Posted November 23, 2020 I see you using Blue Tack and I can only think of when I sometimes use 'Silly Putty'. BTW, nice priming job. Semper Fi. Manny
Proud Kraut Posted November 23, 2020 Author Share #33 Posted November 23, 2020 As I said, Afrika Korps camo pattern colors are a science. I ordered a set of 6 airbrush colors by Vallejo (DAK Colors) 1941-44 and a second one with British colors for the next project.
Proud Kraut Posted November 23, 2020 Author Share #34 Posted November 23, 2020 And used Camouflage Brown (RAL 8020) for the camo pattern.
Old Marine Posted November 25, 2020 Share #35 Posted November 25, 2020 You’re making good progress. It’s coming along nicely. The masking technique is very interesting. Like Manny said you’ were in luck to find those figures. I am having a tough time finding new figures and kits. A lot of the Tamiya, DML and other kits are out of stock indefinitely. Proud Kraut Posted November 25, 2020 Author Share #36 Posted November 25, 2020 Thanks Dennis! Same over here but with DRAGON models, so my impression but I could be wrong. Masking removed, much more work to do.
Proud Kraut Posted November 27, 2020 Author Share #37 Posted November 27, 2020 Tracks completed, decals applied. Detail painting and weathering are still ongoing.

Proud Kraut Posted December 3, 2020 Author Share #39 Posted December 3, 2020 Yesterday the Howitzer received a coat of matt varnish and buff color airbrush "fogging". Finally I applied MIG "Gulf War Desert" pigments to give it a dusty look. So I think it´s complete. I don´t know if it will be part of a dio. Meanwhile I received some new models and new projects are next in line. At least I´ll stay in the desert, then on the opposite side....
Old Marine Posted December 3, 2020 Share #40 Posted December 3, 2020 That looks great. The dusty overspray is perfect. Fine work buddy!
patches Posted December 4, 2020 Share #41 Posted December 4, 2020 21. Panzer Division we see. We also see they used these French modified types in Africa. I only thought these were used in Normandy.

ArtyScout Posted December 6, 2020 Share #43 Posted December 6, 2020 I want to echo Dennis' response regarding the dusting overspray and the pigments. He looks like he's in Libya. Semper Fi. Manny
