MattS Posted November 19, 2020 Share #1 Posted November 19, 2020 Been on the shelf for 15-20 years.
Gwar Posted November 19, 2020 Share #2 Posted November 19, 2020 This one is original for sure, the small feet on the catch are a makers trait of Hermann Aurich, Dresden M4/42, if you look in the circled area you will probably find a small makers mark like this.. Gwar Posted November 19, 2020 Share #3 Posted November 19, 2020 The Luftwaffe buckle I really don't care for, age is one way to determine authenticity, but these have been faked for quite awhile, there is trace evidence of a casting IMO and the coloring seems off as well.. MattS Posted November 20, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted November 20, 2020 Thanks for the comments! The silver one I bought for $30-35 probably 15-20 years ago from a dealer in Michigan so I'm not overly concerned with it, just curious. It is well detailed other than the wear on the high spot (center of the eagle). It's literally been on a shelf with some Luft caps since the days when I last collected those.
