gunnertwo Posted February 17 Share #1 Posted February 17 The FP "bug" bit me a few years back. In my younger days I'd see them at shows for cheap prices (for the times) but never bought any examples. Bought one of the later FP42 examples and the game was on. Here's one of the best pieces in the collection a cased armorers repair kit. There's enough parts to build two complete units. I'll post additions to this thread. Thanks. G2
gunnertwo Posted February 20 Author Share #2 Posted February 20 Here's another from the collection. A nice rig with FP, holster, cleaning rod, flare case and straps. Some original flares too. G2
gunnertwo Posted February 20 Author Share #3 Posted February 20 There is a Flare Gun forum on the net although the traffic is light. A great resource for these is www.bergflack.com G2
SARGE Posted February 20 Share #4 Posted February 20 Very nice examples of flare pistols. These can be addictive. Here is an East German Volkspolizei flare pistol outfit. Notice how the flare box is almost identical to the WWII model. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
gunnertwo Posted February 20 Author Share #5 Posted February 20 Hardly any change to the flare container either. Like you said, if it ain't broke... G2
gunnertwo Posted February 22 Author Share #6 Posted February 22 Here's my post WW2 flare case, not much different from yours except the pebbled finish. G2
gunnertwo Posted February 22 Author Share #7 Posted February 22 This example is the newest piece I have in the collection. I don't normally stray past WW2 items but this caught my eye. "New" in the sealed clear wrapper. Thought it pretty cool. G2
gunnertwo Posted February 23 Author Share #8 Posted February 23 Here's some additional pics of the armorers chest for the flare pistol. G2
SARGE Posted February 23 Share #9 Posted February 23 That armorer kit is the bee's knees IMHO. I love accouterments. Here is the proper early holster for the police issue DDR flare pistol along with a box of red star shells. There was a later holster too with a place for spare shells. gunnertwo Posted February 24 Author Share #10 Posted February 24 Keep that up and I'll have to start collecting post WW2 flare pistols! G2
