John4022 Posted September 22, 2021 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2021 Hi everyone, I wanted to share my first WWII Japanese Helmet. Its in worn shape but as long as its original that's fine by me. It appears to have either sand / mildew behind the liner flaps and I don't believe I see any markings. The helmet has two names painted on the rim, the blue name is thought to be "Matsushita". Thank you for looking and I look forward to your comments! -John
John4022 Posted September 22, 2021 Author Share #2 Posted September 22, 2021 Another shot of the substance inside the liner. I'm thinking it might be dirt?
St.Lukas Posted September 22, 2021 Share #3 Posted September 22, 2021 Just don’t get too wacky as we will never know exactly where dirt is from unless you pay for a soil analysis
John4022 Posted September 22, 2021 Author Share #4 Posted September 22, 2021 Thank you Lukas, but this is dirt definitely from Mount Suribachi!!! I don't care much where the dirt is from, as long as its not mold or mildew. That is my main concern. Thanks again for your comment!

John4022 Posted September 22, 2021 Author Share #7 Posted September 22, 2021 Its beautiful out today so I took her outside for some pictures in direct sunlight. It looks like there is a X near the painted names, could just be a scratch.
