Paul Cooke Posted August 22, 2022 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2022 Hi all, Years ago I bought this lot. https://www.bidsquare.com/online-auctions/mullocks/third-reich-henrich-himmler-a-collection-of-henrich-himmler-memorabilia-comprising-two-pairs-of-his-330230 The conclusion by a couple of people I asked was that the collar tabs are fake. I have spent many hours looking for images of Himmlers desk at Webelsburg to prove that genuine without luck so far. The lot came from the estate of a TR historian/author. His family believed all was authentic. Long shot I know but if anyone has any input I would appreciate it. You never know, someone on here might have some pictures of Webelsburg if nothing else. Gwar Posted August 22, 2022 Share #2 Posted August 22, 2022 Hello, Why not post pictures of the items in question here, on the Forum, when the link has expired this thread will be useless for future research, front and back photos (clear) will be needed in order to assess the tabs, this is from the website provided, and it's not looking good, the price alone should send up a 'Red Flag' ! Paul Cooke Posted August 22, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted August 22, 2022 Because it was about the context of the lot. What was in it as a package. I agree the price was low but stuff does sometimes go well. Will dig the collar tabs out.
Wake1941 Posted August 22, 2022 Share #4 Posted August 22, 2022 Buy the item… not the story. Tabs are definitely repro
Preppy Picker Posted August 22, 2022 Share #5 Posted August 22, 2022 Very low quality embroidery. Probably has no unterlagen which is the paper stencil under the embroidery. The Himmler autograph is not promising either. Himmler wrote in a much tighter fashion. It looks like it was signed on someone’s back.
snake36bravo Posted October 26, 2022 Share #6 Posted October 26, 2022 Once you handle high ranking original tabs there is no question. The quality was impressive in their embroidery and construction. Something completely absent in these collar tabs. All fake and I agree, the Himmler signature is also forged. I doubt the oak stationary rack is actually from oak Wewelsburg, incorrectly spelled in this lot listing as Weblesberg Castle.
Tony A Posted December 21, 2022 Share #7 Posted December 21, 2022 I must also agree that these collar tabs are not authentic.
