Proud Kraut Posted August 4, 2023 #26 Posted August 4, 2023 I think one of these early "SEESTREITKRAEFTE" sailor hats with black/red/yellow cockade (the one without hammer and sickle) would be a centerpiece of every NVA headgear collection. Great photo!

patches Posted October 31, 2023 Author #29 Posted October 31, 2023 A NVA Toy Soldiers from the 60s Made by PGH Effelder, I guess this was an East German company, oddly can't find a history of it
Proud Kraut Posted October 31, 2023 #30 Posted October 31, 2023 A very nice set of figures, thanks for sharing. I guess the ones in the box are not plastic but early mass figures like these from Elastolin?
Proud Kraut Posted November 20, 2023 #32 Posted November 20, 2023 Early tunics with closed collar, nice photo!
ShibaLegend Posted June 30, 2024 #33 Posted June 30, 2024 Here's a NVA soldier with some sort of NV sight.
PogueMahone.1302 Posted January 3 #35 Posted January 3 NVA Unteroffizier Falli with the Schützenschnur. Fan anyone ID the breast badge? Also, is "Falli" a legit word for a German paratrooper? PogueMahone.1302 Posted January 3 #36 Posted January 3 Always thought this was kind of a cool shot! KdA March in Grimma, DDR 1973. I always get a laugh out of the highly unauthorised smiles in the front group. Early KdA with old school weps!
Marshallj Posted January 3 #37 Posted January 3 An airman greeting a little girl. An awards ceremony.
Proud Kraut Posted January 3 #38 Posted January 3 These are some great photos, thanks for sharing guys!

ShibaLegend Posted June 25 #41 Posted June 25 What looks to be infantry cleaning their weapons. Note the use of both the helmet cover and net on the helmets. Infantry soldiers eating out of their WW2 style mess kits. And lastly what looks to be Grenztruppen analyzing a map of an area.
Proud Kraut Posted June 25 #42 Posted June 25 1st photograph: the green plastic covers are most likely rain and NBC protection ponchos "SBU67". Nice pics!
ShibaLegend Posted June 27 #44 Posted June 27 Soldier in winter clothing with his furry friend. Soviet and East german soldiers in the field.
SARGE Posted July 5 #45 Posted July 5 A few photos to keep the thread alive. These came from a Volkspolizei photo album. Can you spot the interesting bits? I will start out by pointing out the beer drinking boys and the seated fellow is wearing his sports badge on his left breast pocket instead of on his right side pocket.

SARGE Posted July 6 #48 Posted July 6 Another interesting bit from our beer drinkers is that the fellow wearing the white shirt is also wearing one of the short lived WWII style helmets. These were considered as looking too much like the M1936 style helmets so they were quickly taken out of service by the VP. Very rare collectible nowadays. I also think the period colorized black & white photo is interesting. A better photo of the helmets.
