Scarecrow Posted January 24, 2023 #5 Posted January 24, 2023 Absolutely is a US Krag rifle. Schultz used this Krag throughout the series.

patches Posted February 10, 2023 Author #8 Posted February 10, 2023 Found another view, Romanian Troops I think in the 50s, those Ammo Pouches are quite viewable. The helmets look funny right, went looking for images of them wasn't finding anything that looked like these, till we found that they are wearing them backwards for some odd reason, that they are in fact a copy of the Russian Helmets, the Romanians made a copy of their own in the late 40s into the 50s, the Romanian Ssh40.
patches Posted February 11, 2023 Author #9 Posted February 11, 2023 I a few. I guess a few episodes, 1965, he wears the German WWI M1909 Ammo Pouches, recognizable by their large boxy like construction.
mikie Posted February 12, 2023 #10 Posted February 12, 2023 The next question now is how did a set of Romanian ammo pouches end up in a Hollywood studio prop department in the early 1960s? Personally, I know nothing! mikie
patches Posted February 12, 2023 Author #11 Posted February 12, 2023 Here they are these M1909 Pouches. Two different episodes.
