Preppy Picker Posted June 4, 2023 Share #1 Posted June 4, 2023 Shopping this weekend. The M40 has the type and color of paint usually seen on an M-35. The Sipo has its original leather wrist band, the photos are of the German pre war leaders, a couple of Japanese boxes from Guadalcanal and an armband. One of the other guys found a paratrooper no decal for $5. Link to comment

Preppy Picker Posted June 5, 2023 Author Share #4 Posted June 5, 2023 Anyone familiar with the German Sipo used by police and Gestapo? I believe it was a private purchase item that they would keep in their pocket available in nickel or gun metal. This is only the second one I’ve ever seen . Link to comment
Bill Scott Posted June 6, 2023 Share #5 Posted June 6, 2023 SIPO was the short version of Sicherheitzspolzei the SS Security Police makes sense they might carry one. Just my thoughts. Link to comment
stratasfan Posted June 6, 2023 Share #6 Posted June 6, 2023 I think it is actually a "stahlrute", which I think is "steel whip". They came with that metal ball on the end and without. The metal ball was lethal and could kill or break many bones. From what I've read (mostly French and British sided), this was more offensive than defensive and often was deadly. Link to comment

Preppy Picker Posted February 21 Author Share #15 Posted February 21 The EK1 is an Arbeitsgemeinschaft Hanau. The EK1 Spang is a BH Mayer with the original finish polished off. The General Assault badge is a hard to find zinc Assmann. The beat up EK2 is a war time Souval. Link to comment
